Frequently Asked Questions
After exploring this site and having an initial consultation call, most people start to get a sense of whether working together feels right. During that call, I’m also paying close attention to whether I’m the best fit for your needs or whether a colleague might be better suited to help you reach your goals. The connection between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of meaningful therapy.
I adhere to the HIPAA privacy rules in place to protect your private health information. There exist exceptions to confidentiality when you or someone else is in direct danger. Please visit the following site for more detailed information about these policies: HIPAA Policies
Sessions are typically held once per week at a regularly scheduled time, other arrangements can sometimes be made based on individual needs.
All sessions are provided via Telehealth. To access your telehealth appointment at the time of session, locate the link in the client portal or in your appointment reminder email. For computers, just click the link and your video session will open. For phones, you will need to download the Telehealth app.
The length of time we will spend together in therapy varies based on individual need and preferences, and may change over time. Sometimes therapy comes to an end, and other times people remain in therapy after they have met their primary goal(s), as they consider it to be part of their self-care.
